Communication

Communications is fundamental to the existence and survival of humans as well as to an organization. It is a process of creating and sharing ideas, information, views, facts, feelings, etc. among the people to reach a common understanding. 

This communication program will take you to the corporate and sports environment. We will look at the basic building blocks of communication, how communication can cause a revolution in the organization, how communication plans are created and adhered to, but also how to deal with a situation where the organization fails. The course connects theory with practice.

On successful completion of this program, you will receive a Certificate from the NVAO accredited university 'Netherlands Business Academy'. 

 

The programme consists of 9 of 1,5 hour lectures, which include both theoretical and practical parts. All lectures include concrete examples from practice. There will be enough time for questions at the end of each lecture.

 1st lesson - What is communication, history, evolution, the most common barriers and little tricks to become a better communicator.

2nd lesson - What the communication needs are in different size of companies. What a good communication manager should be able to do.

3rd lesson - How to prepare a communication strategy, what we need to prepare, which stakeholders should be involved. How to measure whether the strategy has been successfully implemented.

4th lesson - Internal communication - How to set up successful internal communication, what channels are used, which are the most effective. Why is it necessary to cooperate with the HR department and the company's management in internal communication? And how to avoid the biggest mistakes?

5th lesson - External communication - How to define what we actually want to say? How to identify the target groups and the topics they are interested in? What communication channels are used and how big a role does the size of the budget play?

6th lesson - How to harness the power of employees in communication? How can communication help increase employee engagement? And how to measure it?

7th lesson - Crisis communication - How to deal with an unexpected situation. How to prepare for it, what techniques to use and what not to say.

8th lesson – Communication with impact - How to impress the audience?

9th lesson – A summary of the most important principles in communication.

Admission Requirements

To follow this program, you don´t have to have relevant work experience in communications. No prior management or leadership experience is required as to enroll on this course.

You should be able to use a computer at a beginner level. 

Language Requirements

Literature, lectures, and coaching is given in Czech or English (depends on the group of students).

Duration and Study Load

The Executive Masterclass Communication consists of lecture days and several study group sessions. Outside of class hours, you must count on a reasonable study load per week for writing your assignments. The total duration of the program is weeks. Lecture Days

Lectures in this distance study program will be provided through online learning on Wednesday afternoons and evenings. Consultation meetings will take place Tuesday mornings. Together with your fellow participants, you will work on cases and assignments, prepare presentations, and comment on each other’s work. Mgr. Karolína Kříženecká

Executive Masterclass of Communication is led by a lecturer Mgr. Karolína Kříženecká who has been working in the international and Czech communication teams of large companies (Siemens, Hochtief, ING) for more than twenty years. But she also has many years of experience in the sports environment, both from the field (as a coach of club and national teams) and from the management of clubs and associations. Sufficient successful and unsuccessful concrete examples are therefore ensured.
